Hello Makers,👋🏻

If you're getting 'Plesk Default Page Error' on your site's, this guide will help you to troubleshoot this issue!

If you've installed Wordpress using WP Toolkit, sometimes it'll not include the .htaccess file on the domain directory. In most cases, this causes the problem. Alternatively, you can Install Wordpress using Softaculous.

However, just follow the steps below to troubleshoot this issue in few minutes!

First, login to your Plesk and go to the domain directory via File Manager, that you're getting errors. If your domain directory doesn't have the .htaccess file, you just need to create and configure the new .htaccess file.

Now, you need to create .htaccess file on the domain directory. Just click on + icon.

And now, click on Create File.

Now, you need to enter the file name, which is .htaccess and click on OK.

.htaccess file has been created for the domain, but we need to configure for Wordpress site. Now, click on the .htaccess file. Here, you need to copy and paste the code below.

# BEGIN WordPress
# The directives (lines) between "BEGIN WordPress" and "END WordPress" are
# dynamically generated, and should only be modified via WordPress filters.
# Any changes to the directives between these markers will be overwritten.
<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
RewriteEngine On
RewriteRule .* - [E=HTTP_AUTHORIZATION:%{HTTP:Authorization}]
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
# END WordPress

After adding these lines to the .htaccess file, don't forget to save it. And that's it, you're done! Your site should works now. You need to wait sometime or clear your browser cache or try accessing your site on Incognito Window or different device.
